Welcome to the Personal Page of Renetta DuBose
Top of the morning family and friends,
Many of you know I hate asking for money, but this endeavor hits home. You have probably seen me or heard me talk about, text, or post to social media those random letters – PCOS. Yep, I have it. It sucks. It hurts. So, I’ve committed the next month to raising awareness and money so that I don’t have to live with it forever and perhaps my children and children’s children won’t have to either. Wait, that’s if I have them. My journey includes an irregular menstrual cycle, excruciating ovarian pain, sudden and unexplainable weight gain, weight loss struggles (I’m an avid jogger), hormonal imbalance and facial hair that grows daily. This has been my battle for a decade, if not longer. That’s just when I was diagnosed.
I know too many people whose lives have been affected by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. That’s what PCOS stands for. PCOS is a serious genetic, hormonal, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects more than seven million women and girls in the U.S., leading to infertility, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. That's why I'm joining PCOS Challenge, Inc., the leading nonprofit organization advancing the cause for women and girls with PCOS, for the Bolt for PCOS 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Georgia Tech.
I've committed to raising awareness and funds to benefit PCOS care, support and research programs, and I need your help. Together, we can become an unstoppable force against this devastating condition.
You can help in two ways:
1. Join me in the fight against PCOS by walking with me. You can be a virtual walker anywhere in the country for $20.
2. Help me reach my goal by making a donation to my fundraising page.
I hope to make a big contribution in the fight against PCOS by reaching my personal fundraising goal of $500, and I'd be so grateful if you would join me. Thank you in advance!
